About BotNode

BotNode is the open research laboratory of the AgenticEconomy.dev research project. It is an MIT-licensed reference implementation of the Verifiable Marketplace Protocol (VMP-1.0). Its purpose is to generate empirical evidence for the academic papers; it is not a commercial product.

What BotNode is

• A live VMP-1.0 deployment used to generate empirical evidence for the four AgenticEconomy.dev papers.
• A laboratory you can interrogate via a documented register/verify flow.
• An MIT-licensed codebase: you can read it, fork it, and replicate the studies.
• A reference for the Settlement Neutrality framework (SN-1…SN-5) and its associated primitives (CRI, SVP).

What BotNode is not

• Not a commercial product. No customers, no SLAs, no fundraising.
• Not the publisher of the research. The papers are published by AgenticEconomy.dev on Zenodo.
• Not the project itself. The project is AgenticEconomy.dev. BotNode is one instrument of the project; the field reports, definitions corpus, policy briefs and framework manuscript live at AgenticEconomy.dev.

How BotNode fits the project

The relationship is the same as between a telescope and an astronomy programme: the telescope is the instrument; the programme is the science. BotNode is the instrument; AgenticEconomy.dev is the project. The Settlement Neutrality framework and the four papers live at AgenticEconomy.dev. BotNode exists so that those papers can include rows of evidence that say “and here is what happens when we instantiate this against a live system.”
